Celebrating its second successful year of business this month, Kinkz Salon & Day Spa is happy to offer continued excellence to its clients, while bringing Southwest Orlando what is hot and trendy in the beauty world.
Johnny and Tanya Mack of Dr. Phillips are the talented husband-and-wife owners of the upbeat salon, which was voted one of Orlando’s top five day spas in the WESH 2/CW18 2008 A-List and was voted the best hair salon by Southwest Orlando Bulletin readers for 2008.
Kristy McBride of Windermere has been a client of Johnny’s for four years and could not be more pleased.
“I go back to him because I believe he is the best colorist and hair stylist in Orlando,” she said. “He just knows hair. He just gets it right.
You will always leave happy; he will bend over backwards for you. I will not let anybody else touch my hair.”
Tanya, an award-winning snowboarder with a strong business background, keeps Kinkz running smoothly.

Kinkz offers an array of cutting-edge services, including two different eyelash extensions, Japanese hair straightening, Brazilian waxes for women and men, the latest candy-colored hair dyes seen all around Hollywood, and three different kinds of hair extensions.
Kinkz uses Great Lengths hair extensions, which offer clients thickness, length and color, including highlights. Extensions can last up to one year, and, unlike permanent hair dyes, they can be removed easily and with no damage to the hair.
The salon also caters to clients with very difficult or unmanageable hair.
“I like to handpick who I think will be the best fit for each client,” Johnny said.
Johnny, Tanya and their staff of 25 attend a variety of beauty classes to remain on the cutting edge.
“We like to stay very knowledgeable,” Tanya said. “We want to know what’s going on and what’s new so we can provide the best possible services to our clients. I schedule all kinds of classes in the salon, as well, so our staff can stay current with all the latest looks and the hottest trends.”
Customer service is a top priority for the Macks, who personally test every product they sell to ensure its quality. Kinkz carries Goldwell; René Furterer Paris; S-Factor by TIGI; OPI; and the complete Dermalogica skin-care line, including AGE Smart; and more.
“We offer our clients an expert short pixie cut to a long, layered cut,” Johnny said. “And I want them to feel like they’ve been in a five-star environment. I am not satisfied unless they do feel that way. On a scale of one to 10, I want their experience to be a 10 every time.”
They also are proud to offer designer hair accessories and jewelry, including Tarina Tarantino, which has appeared around Hollywood and on several TV shows, including Gossip Girl, LA Ink and America’s Next Top Model.
